Year-in-Review: SHEA Global Highlights from 2019

It is hard to believe that 2019 is almost over — what a year it’s been!

The past 12 months signified the first full year of business for SHEA Global, following SHEA Business Solution’s acquisition of TGO Consulting and Ardent Solutions.

As we enter into the new year and new decade, we are looking back at all that has transpired over 2019. Read on for highlights from our year-in-review.

More Solutions for the Fashion and Apparel Industries: K3 Partnership 

We were thrilled to partner with K3 this year, a leader in Microsoft technology solutions for the fashion and apparel industries.

Through applications such as K3|pebblestone and SHEA Global’s business excellence expertise, this partnership brings powerful insight and control covering the entire product lifecycle from design to sale.

Excellence in Action: The Chesterfield Shop 

The Chesterfield Shop, a leading furniture retailer, has been committed to excellence for generations and wanted to continue that commitment by leveraging technology to better serve their customers. They chose SHEA Global as their partner in securing success.

We recommended solutions to improve existing sales order, financial management, and reporting processes.

“The operational impact of consolidating systems and automating processing will provide a fast return on investment and moving to the cloud certainly provides peace of mind,” said Miriam Bisol, Controller of The Chesterfield Shop, about the partnership.

SYSPRO Canada Partner of the Year 

It was announced that SHEA Global was recognized by SYSPRO Canada as the Partner of the Year for 2018.

The award recognized the partner that has exhibited exceptional performance in sales, customer retention, account growth, and superior knowledge of the complete SYSPRO solution. SHEA earned it in part through helping customers leverage their investment in SYSPRO, and guiding a large customer through its expansion to new lines of business in a short timeframe.

“Jeff Hunt and his team at SHEA Global have made several strategic investments over the past couple of years to grow in the enterprise business space,” said Wayne Slater, Vice President of Channel Sales at SYSPRO Canada, at the time.

“Their increased focus and ongoing contributions to the SYSPRO community resulted in a year of outstanding growth, customer retention and overall superior customer satisfaction.”

DDBRIX Toronto Workshop

In November 2019, we held our inaugural DDBRIX Toronto Workshop — an innovative special event that showcased how to eliminate the pains of planning in a game-like simulation.

Participants experienced the benefits of Lean supply chain management first-hand through a nostalgic medium: LEGO bricks.

Using these bricks, teams formed their own supply chains and used the principles of demand-driven material requirements planning to identify efficiencies and eliminate stress.

DDMRP Pilot Program 

Demand-driven material requirements planning (DDMRP) offers huge benefits for businesses but the challenge lies within determining whether it is the right solution for your company without firsthand experience .

In 2019, we formed a program to eliminate any doubts.

The DDMRP Pilot Program allows businesses to discover the unique results and benefits they can recover using DDMRP. Our program greatly improves organizational buy-in and eases the implementation process.

Business Better Awards 

In 2019, we launched our Business Better Awards, which recognize corporate culture and individual leadership resulting in deliberate and measurable impacts on the company’s operational performance.

Two businesses received the award this year. 

Sepura

Sepura, a recognized global leader in the development and supply of radio terminals, accessories, and applications for TETRA-based mission-critical and business-critical communications, received the Business Better Award in 2019 for Excellence in Process Optimization.

Through implementing innovative procedures for radio licensing, Sepura enhanced its operational performance and significantly reduced lead time for license provision to under a minute.

“SHEA understood Sepura’s need from the outset,” said Michael Hughes, AX Project Manager and System Architect, at Sepura. “Through an iterative process of design, implementation and testing we reached a solution that met all the original objectives. This enables our customers to continue with their programming activity with no delay, allowing them to focus on their vital operations.”

Classic Concepts Inc.

Through a partnership with SHEA, Classic Concepts Inc. mapped out and prioritized business process improvement to streamline their processes and better empowered their team in an industry that has traditionally been hard to innovate.

With SHEA’s guidance, Classic Concepts Inc. addressed distribution challenges inherent to home furnishings. The operational team has since been able to gain a better insight into where and how to streamline procurement and fulfillment. This resulted in better staff and customer experiences.
